Local and National Partnerships
Local and National Partnerships
Generation Rx is honored to partner with organizations across Ohio and the country to advance medication safety and harm reduction efforts. Our local and national partnerships help us share resources, create innovative programs, and make a greater impact in communities nationwide. Check out some of our statewide and national collaborations and let us know how we can help advance your efforts.
4-H Medicine Science and Safety Activity Book
Generation Rx collaborated with Ohio 4-H to develop a 4-H activity book that guides older elementary students in learning about the science and safety of medications in a fun and age-appropriate manner. This activity book passed national review and is available to order on the 4-H website across the country.
The Generation Rx Girl Scouts Patch
Generation Rx collaborated with Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland to develop a patch program to help girl scouts learn medication safety, connect with local pharmacists, as well as take action to make sure their community is equipped with medication safety prevention education. Any troop in Ohio is eligible to complete the Generation Rx patch program.
Medication Safety Education with Local Youth Partners
Generation Rx currently partners with Wellington Schools, Columbus City Schools, and Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services (ETSS) within Central Ohio, collaborating to co-implement medication safety educational programs using the GenRx Elementary and Teen Toolkit resources. Throughout 2024 - 2025, these partnerships provided medication safety education to over XX children locally and helped address partners' needs for expanded health and wellness education. Our team welcomes your questions about delivering GenRx education for K-12 audiences.
Generation Rx University for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL)
The Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity remains a long-standing partner of GenRx, collaborating to support national collegiate prevention efforts focused on the safe use of medications and other substances. Recognizing that FSL students experienced higher risk for misusing medications, Generation Rx collaborated with Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Sigma Nu Fraternity, PIKE, and Pi Kappa Phi to adapt the Generation Rx University toolkit resources to specifically engage students in fraternity and sorority life.
State-Level Prevention Initiatives
Federal and state-level funding mechanisms have given local communities access to the training and resources needed to prioritize prevention activities across the lifespan to combat the opioid crisis. The GenRx team is privileged to have served a small role in these comprehensive, national efforts! Since 2019, GenRx has briefed state and regional leaders across multiple states on GenRx resources and provided formal training and/or consultant experiences to many of these leaders, including in Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, and Delaware.
“This new resource fits nicely into the existing 4-H material. By completing the activities in ‘Medicine Science and Safety’, children are learning life skills that will help them today and always as they keep themselves and their families safe when using medication.”
