Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the Pharmacy Alumni Society’s Generation Rx Pharmathon Scholarship, Kelista Walker!

Walker, a third-year PharmD candidate, is the current president of the Generation Rx student organization and previously served as the organization’s vice president during her P2 year. She has been involved with Generation Rx programming since her first year in the Ohio State PharmD program. One of her most impactful activities has been helping rebuild a partnership between the student organization and Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, where students have facilitated activities and provided medication safety education to Girl Scouts in Central Ohio.

Established in July 2018, this scholarship utilizes funds raised from the Pharmathon 5K event to promote awareness and education regarding safe medication-taking practices and/or the dangers of prescription drug misuse via the Pharmacy Alumni Society Governing Board and the College of Pharmacy Generation Rx Initiative. This award is a $4,000 scholarship granted to the applicant who best exhibits exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and good citizenship.
